Building The Foundations For Mental Wellbeing

Our Early Years Programme

Benefits for your nursery or early years setting

Improved mental wellbeing and behaviour

Kind Minds helps children to recognise, understand and express their emotions, building the foundations that support positive behaviour, self-regulation and healthy relationships.

Ready-to-teach lessons

We provide interactive, Early Years curriculum-aligned lessons, poems, classroom resources and wellbeing activities that are ready to use at the click of a button. No additional planning required.

Wellbeing data collection

Track progress through pupil voice, Kind Minds wellbeing surveys and outcome measures that help demonstrate the positive impact of your wellbeing provision across the setting.

Supports teacher wellbeing

Looking after others begins with looking after yourself and that is exactly where Kind Minds starts. We encourage early years teachers to prioritise their own wellbeing using mindfulness techniques.

Our Early Years Curriculum Structure

Taught alongside our loveable animal characters, Kind Minds in the Early Years includes 4 key pillars of learning content.

Concentrate

With the playful puppy the children learn how to be in the present moment by developing their attention skills and focus. The children are introduced to the 'wandering puppy mind' and how to train their minds using mindfulness.

Calm

With the mischievous monkey the children learn how to regulate their minds and bodies using simple breathing techniques. The lessons explore movement and simple yoga sequences to help children deepen their emotional regulation skills.

Connect

With the kind kangaroo the children learn how to be kind to themselves and others so that they acquire lifelong tools to manage their mental wellbeing. The lessons introduce children to daily kindness rituals, gratitude and self-compassion practices.

Create

With the creative caterpillar the children learn how to express their emotions using creative mindfulness techniques and artwork. The activities help children to generalise the mindfulness tools they have learnt into their everyday lives.

Loved by our schools

Kind Minds is the best wellbeing curriculum I have come across. I have a simple structure to follow and we finally have emotional literacy resources, lessons and guidance that goes above and beyond the provisions within the national curriculum. Highly recommend to all school senior management teams.

The Olive Primary School

Pastoral Lead

During our Ofsted visit (graded Outstanding) I was able to talk about Kind Minds and how successful this was, impacting on children’s wellbeing, positive behaviour and ultimately, learning outcomes. I feel that every school should have the Kind Minds Curriculum to support their children’s wellbeing and emotions.

Zouch Academy, Wiltshire

The Principal

Adopting a whole-school approach to mindfulness through the Kindness Curriculum has been a game-changer. Evidence from pupil voice clearly shows that children across our three-form entry primary school feel more equipped to manage their emotions, and we’ve seen a noticeable improvement in behaviour and emotional regulation in every classroom.
